The first trailer for “Ferrari” – currently hoping for a December 2023 release – has dropped.
Adam Driver plays Italian sports car entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari, alongside Penelope Cruz as Ferrari’s wife, Laura Ferrari and Shailene Woodley as his mistress Lina Lardi.
“Ferrari” will premiere at this week’s 2023 Venice Film Festival but is still seeking a USA distributor as the ongoing WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike continues and most scheduling is being put on hold until the dispute is resolved.
The “Ferrari” screenplay was adapted from Brock Yate’s 1991 biography “Enzo Ferrari — The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine” and further stars Patrick Dempsey as fellow race car driver Piero Taruffi.
“Ferrari” is set in 1957, prior to the famous Mille Miglia race and most of the film was shot in Brescia, Italy, where the real Mille Miglia race took place.
