Haas Nearing Driver Announcement For 2016 Formula One Team
Gene Haas, owner of the newest team entry into Formula One in 2016, has indicate that he expects to make an announcement in the coming weeks of who will be his drivers for the new team. Haas has already indicated that one of the drivers will come from the Ferrari reserve driver camp – as Ferrari will be supplying their engines for next season’s races – and that means it will be either Esteban Gutierrez or Jean-Eric Vergne as the likely driver in one of the Haas cars. Who will be the driver in the other car is still a mystery as Haas has additionally indicated that he would like said driver to have some experience having driven F1 cars in the recent past or currently – names that fit that criteria and who are available for duty would be at least 10 drivers but it appears that McLaren reserve driver Kevin Magnusson and current Lotus driver Romain Grosjean may be two who could have the possible advantage in the selection process.
The 2015 Formula One season continues with the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay at 5 a.m. [PDT] on NBCSN on September 20, 2015.
