Hamilton Claims Spanish Grand Prix Pole
In one of the least surprising developments of what is gradually turning out to be one of the least surprising Formula One racing seasons, Lewis Hamilton won the pole position with a 1:25.232 time for the upcoming 2014 Spanish Grand Prix and his teammate, Nico Rosberg [1:25.4], is next to him on the front row as Mercedes claimed the top two spots as they likely will when the race is finished tomorrow.
Red Bull Racing rookie, Daniel Ricciardo, was third but more than a full second behind at 1:26.285 while his teammate, four-time defending F1 champion Sebastian Vettel, suffered gearbox problems and will start in 10th place on the grid.
The 2014 Spanish Grand Prix is scheduled for Catalunya, Spain, on May 11, 2014.
