Kia uses the upcoming Super Bowl to unleash Binky Dad in their promotion of their Telluride X-Pro SUV.
In the commercial, a family of three sets off on what initially appears to be a fun adventure only to discover – horror of horrors! – that somebody [not naming names, but you know…] forgot to pack baby’s favorite binky – setting off the chase scene that nearly every mother and father in America know from heart [though, thankfully, reduced to a mere 60 seconds].
With Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now,” (theme from “Rocky”) blaring in the background, Binky Dad successfully navigates his Kia Telluride X-Pro down a shortcut from the mountain resort, through a Kia Telluride X-Pro-sized [fortunately] drainage pipe at a construction site, detoured into the Los Angeles River [a nifty trick], on the field in a football stadium during a game – before finally making it home and retrieving said binky only to discover more the arrival of more tragedy upon his triumphant return to the mountain resort.
