Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won the 2023 Brazilian Grand Prix sprint race ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez.
Norris began the race on pole position but Verstappen passed him on the first turn and never was challenged for the lead after that. Norris, meanwhile, was briefly passed by Mercedes’ George Russell, but eventually regained the position on Lap four of the 24-lap race and was never challenged again for the second position.
Perez battled seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes for the first five laps, but eventually passed Hamilton and held on to the that position for the remainder of the race.
With the finish, Perez adds six points to his season total and now has 246 points to Hamilton’s 222 points in the battle for second place behind Verstappen.
