Bentley Collabs With The Macallan To Produce The Horizon
Bentley Motors has collaborated with Scotch whiskymaker The Macallan to create a single malt whisky – dubbed The Horizon – as part of The Macallan’s 200th-anniversary celebrations.
The Macallan Horizon is presented in a horizontal bottle with a twisted shape intended to represent the ‘horizontal trajectory of the automotive world’ and utilizes six materials – reflecting The Macallan’s ‘six pillars’ of its so-called ‘foundation stones’ – consisting of a bottle made of glass, wrapped with an aluminum ribbon, encased in a low-carbon leather sculpture which is placed inside a recycled copper frame [from former Macallan stills] featuring an inlay of oak wood and the sculpture finished with Bentley’s Crown Cut walnut veneer.
The sixth and final material is, of course, the single malt Scotch itself, which was extracted from six first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks and is said to offer notes of dark cherries, ginger, oak, pineapple and toffee.
Bring your bank account as The Macallan Horizon is being made available for a mere $51,275 per bottle.
The Macallan originally initiated their partnership in July 2021.
